Giving it a try for a long weekend in Sept.
I'm sure theres loads of places to give a swerve but any recommendations on location?
Ideally sandy beach, not too Brits abroad. Nightlife beyond eating out not an issue.

Puerto del Carmen. In the Harbour Area there is a little bar (The Inn Place) run by a couple of die hard Hammers fans. On Saturdays they show EVERY PL game on an assortment of t v screens placed around the bar. Decent half time nosebag as well.
Best get there earlyish if you want a decent seat.

The beaches on the West side of the island, like Famara, are where all the surfing happens, less tourists.
Playa Blanca down South is lovely (there's even a nudist beach).
Got a lot of time for Puerto Del Carmen. Nice beaches. Weed club. There is also one of the best seafood restaurants ever here - El Golfo.

Costa teguise is nice. My parents have gone a few times and I've been once. There's a 'loud' bit of town and a 'quiet' bit of town. So make sure to stay in the 'quiet' bit :)
Couple of nice restaurants and bars, and quite a lot to do in driveable distance.
